The steps of the arctic white wolf with shades of Grey here and there halted just short of the water's edge; her head came up to inhale the smells of the lake. Water, wet plants... soaked earth. She felt carefree in such an atmostphere. Have food, good weather and no wolfs around. What more could she need! She sat down with her front paws infront of her as she felt relaxed and refreshed. Her worries of being a loner and having no pack just dissappered.
Akela stared at the clear waters where fish were swiftly swimming around. Oh well... looked like Fishing then. She had gotten pretty good at it, actually. The bite of the cold water sent a shiver threw her body as she stepped into the lake... she moved deeper, slowly. Head tilted to look down at the surface, she moved only deep enough to have the water begin to brush at her soft belly fur.
In the summer heat, it felt wonderful. Maybe she'd just go for a swim instead? No.. fish first, not knowning when her next meal would be. But it didn't worry her unless a intruder appeared. She made up her mind Fish first then fun. Shifting her weight back onto her hips, she crouched a little and began to feel around under the water with her forepaws - hoping to stir up a bit of lunch.

The alpha of the Pohjois was now much farther away from his terra that ever before, and as he surveyed the land he would one day attempt to claim in the name of his pack, he spotted a arctic fae up to her belly in water. She seemed to be looking for a meal. Cygnus had an urge to scare her off, but then he coolly reminded himself that he was somewhat far from his terra, and thus, had no right to kick off the loner. Itching to speak- which was quite unusual of him, he got a little closer and said, "I see you aren't having any luck so far." The black brute said eloquently as was his habit of speaking. He glided down towards the water, and as his ancestors had, watched the water intently, and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a flash of color. With lightning like reflexes, he closed his jaws around the poor salmon. Attempting to be polite, he set down the now dead fish and asked, "Do you want some?" And immediately felt angry at himself. Why am I being so polite all of a sudden?
This whole week he had been feeling strange and not himself. It was just downright strange. He was polite to everyone, including loners! It was normal for him to be kind and compassionate to his subordinates, but to a loner? It was downright strange and the opposite of his normal behavior to strangers. Perhaps it was because he was on free land.

"I see you aren't having any luck so far" Akela's ears pricked to the voice as she heard a certain tone of voice behind her. She quickly turned her head and saw a dark strong wolf standing there. Startled for sure, Akela wasn't sure if the river side was a terrorized land or not. Perphaps it was a Pack wolf? She felt like starting a fight then and there but she reluctantly moved back slowly in her same position trying not to use violence. The male did look quite strong after all, but if he did fight or try to chase her away, Akela would definately attack back. She kept her guard on with eyes on the wolf. What is he doing... Who is he?, another loner perphaps?. Thoughts mingled in her mind as she saw the black male skilfully catch a salmon in his mouth. A litlte smirked expression could be seen on Akela's face seeing how fast he could catch a salmon. As he set the fish and offered some, Akela straightened her back. She was by no means about to lower her back in submission just to get some lunch. "Thank You, But I'd rather catch some my own" She said a tone of pride but yet softly as she slightly ducked her head. The stranger was unusually different from other wolfs. Such politeness to someone who he didn't even know? Even her sister Accailia wouldn't do so....

"Ah, okay. Suit yourself" The alpha said, and began to devour the fish. Now's my chance to return to normal He thought as he snapped the frail bones in his jaws. After having eaten the whole fish, bones and all, he retreated to a high point and stared over towards his pack-lands. It seemed that nothing had happened over there. He narrowed his eyes to slits as he tried to make out any unfamiliar wolves and the location of herds. Today he had surprisingly decided to give himself a break from patrolling his pack's borders, so he could pretend to be a loner and gather information about the current events without having to worry. But he could not help a glance back towards his terra once in a while. He didn't feel nearly as on guard with strangers now than when he wasn't in disguise, as no one knew who he was and therefore would not aim for his life in order to obtain his rank. How good it felt to be free of his burden for a while. It was risky, but well worth the trouble. This was a day when Cygnus could be different from his normal self. He shut his eyes for a while, basking in the warmth of the sun, but still awake, able to move at any movement on the white she-wolf's part. He had not escaped his real self after all.
